Iwamizawa International Mini-Festival Information Page
Welcome to the Iwamizawa International Mini-Festival Information Wiki. This wiki is a "knowledge bank" for future ALTs in Iwamizawa-shi to record useful information for hosting the festival. It's also for ALTs in other parts of Japan, to provide inspiration and advice for hosting your own International Festival.
Overview
The Iwamizawa International Mini-Festival has been held in June each year since 2007. Each participating ALT helps to produce a booth showcasing their nationality with posters, maps, photographs and brochures. Each booth also holds an activity from the ALT's country, such as a traditional game, writing in their native language, or sampling traditional foods. Attendees at the festival are given a "passport" which is stamped at each booth. Attendees who get a stamp from every booth at the festival recieve a prize - a small item from one of the represented countries. The center of the festival is the food tent. Here, attendees can purchase foreign foods and drink. Profits from the food tent, once costs have been covered, have traditionally been used to benefit the HAJET HEC Camp.
